Linux Mint 14/Nadia Already Ready to Download


Linux Mint 14 is called Nadia, is available for free download.

In the face of the new interface, Nadia comes with a management tool that has been updated, as well as other improvements including increased stability. Nadia Linux distro based on Ubuntu 12:10 (Quantal Quetzal) and using Linux kernel 3.5.

As written by developers on their blog, Linux Mint 14 is the result of 6 months of vesi previous development process. "We are very proud of the MATE, Cinnamon, MDM and all the components used in this release," she wrote on their blog.


MATE and Cinnamon are two options interface (desktop environment) that can be worn by the user. Compare with Ubuntu only uses Unity as its interface.

MATE is the development and splinter (fork) of the GNOME 2. According to the developers Mint, MATE 1.4 not only improved the quality and stability of the GNOME 2, but also the elimination of bugs and adding new features.

Mint 14 also includes MDM interface (Mint Display Manager) theme that supports Gnome Display Manager 2. There are 30 themes that are installed by default in Mint 14 and there are about 2000 more to be gained in gnome-look.org. Users can customize their theme and login screen.

Mint 14 is required to run the system as follows. X86 32-bit or 64-bit (Linux Mint 64-bit requires a 64-bit; Linux Mint 32-bit processors can use 32-bit or 64-bit), 512MB RAM (1GB recommended), 5GB of disk space, the card graphics with a minimum resolution of 800x600; drive CD / DVD or USB port.
